Jonesboro is located in the lower Mississippi Valley Region of the United States. It is the largest city in Northeast Arkansas, the fourth largest city in the state, with a population of approximately 50,000. A University town, Jonesboro is home to Arkansas State University, and to all the exciting sporting events, major concerts and stage shows that the 10,500-seat convocation Center will hold. Annual events such as the Christmas parade and the Lights on the Ridge events during the holiday season (where over two million twinkling lights are on display) and the Main Street Jonesboro Celebration make the changing of the seasons special. The Forum, a beautifully restored theater, hosts Broadway productions, as well as concerts by The Northeast Arkansas Symphony. ![]() Jonesboro residents have access to health care services provided by more than hundreds of skilled physicians, many of whom are specialists in their fields. The two acute care hospitals, St. Bernards Regional Medical Center and Regional Medical Center of NEA, offer services generally found in much larger cities.
